Join our Mathematics department and you'll be part of a tight-knit community dedicated to teaching, learning and discovery. We're a department where dynamic students and active researchers are brought together by a common passion.
We offer a modern teaching programme designed to give students a firm grasp of the principles of mathematics. Our flexible course structure enables you to focus on what interests you, from pure to applied mathematics - or maybe a broad range of modules. As well as technical skills including sophisticated mathematical techniques, we help you to master a range of vital attributes such as strong communication and critical thinking.
Our community is also home to fascinating research in fields from fluid dynamics to logic, and from quantum fluids to representation theory. We have links with mathematicians across Europe and beyond.

Mathematics is a highly versatile subject, with many different pathways and applications. Our Mathematics with a Foundation Year course provides an alternative route into our degrees without having to meet traditional entry requirements, but more importantly, it provides you with a solid grounding in everything you’ll need for a successful degree in Mathematics at UEA. By the end of the year, you’ll be ready to progress to the next stage, fully equipped for the thrills and challenges ahead.
